Susan Cook is an associate professor of English at Southern New Hampshire University. She started attending the Dickens Universe as a graduate student at UC Santa Barbara. Her research interests include nineteenth-century literature and visual culture, crime literature, and gender studies. Her book, Victorian Negatives: Literary Culture and the Dark Side of Photography in the Nineteenth Century, will be published this August by SUNY Press.
